How I've Set Up My Life Binder For 2017

This is exciting. 2017 is just around the corner and I just finished getting my Life Binder all cleaned up and perked up for the new year and for YOU! :)

In case you're unfamiliar with this, my Life Binder is a system that I've used for years to take 100% responsibility for my life. It allows me to have one central, physical hub for everything that is going on in my life so that I can SEE it and MEASURE my progress. It's been the key to my ability to live my life on an upward spiral and make every year 10 times better than the last.

The last time I did a post like this where I went into the behind the scenes of my personal life binder was YEARS ago. Yikes. But that post has become the most popular post on my blog and helped me realize that I needed to turn this system into a product that people could buy and now my Life Binder has helped well over a thousand people move closer to taking 100% responsibility for their lives too.

The post below is all in pictures - I'm not going to drive you crazy with additional descriptions because there is already sooooo much to scroll through, but if you have ANY questions, please leave a comment below! :)

How to Get Back your Clarity, Energy, and Momentum

Hello Mid-August... or almost-end-of-August rather! Some of you have noticed that I haven't posted my usual free "Hello Mid-Month" printable since May. Truth be told, I've been so preoccupied with creating new courses and products that I felt a little too burnt out to do my usual monthly post. I've also been feeling a little bit STUCK.

It's funny because I was talking to my friend/client/mentor Carrie Green about this quicksand feeling a few weeks ago and she's been experiencing the same thing! Maybe something is going around... And since Carrie is amazing, she went ahead and created a video and workbook to help people break free from feeling this way. Check it out here. >>

When it comes down to it, I feel like feeling stuck comes down to this:

- 1 -

We've stopped feeling as grateful as possible for all the blessings, opportunities, people, and resources that we have in our lives and so we've stopped taking full advantage of what we have in front of us. The key question here is: WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH WHAT YOU ALREADY HAVE? We don't deserve more until we appreciate what we already have and we do that by MAKING USE of it.

- 2 -

We've stopped taking action. We let ourselves get overwhelmed by uncertainty instead of focusing on THE VERY NEXT STEP RIGHT IN FRONT OF US. When we take action - ANY ACTION - on a consistent basis, we stay tuned into clarity, momentum, and energy. Decide right now that you are going to do SOMETHING today even if you have to "move heaven and earth." You know what that "something" is already. It's right in front of you. Don't take those baby steps for granted. One step always leads to another.

- 3 -

We've "turned down" the volume of our personal development. Feeling dry, uninspired, used up? We actually make things harder than they need to be when we ignore our personal development. Reading and listening to self-improvement materials has a multiplying effect on our effort. You can literally 10x your results by spending at least 30 minutes every day reading books like The Slight Edge, The Magic of Thinking Big, or Think and Grow Rich, or listening to great thought leaders like Jim Rohn, Tony Robbins, or Jack Canfield.

And of course, to help you implement all this, I created a free printable just for you to help you "get out of a funk".

Keep moving forward. No matter what.

Free Hello Mid-February Printable

Hi! So I'm really liking how I write up these posts that go along with the Hello Month Printables. I hope you like them too. I just breeze through some things that have been going positive in my life so far and it's super enjoyable to share it all with you and I hope it gives you value. To be honest, these are the types of posts that I've always wished I could read from other people that I look up to. So here we go!

I found this awesome cup by Kate Spade that has been helping me drink more water. I found that the closer I get to drinking a gallon a day, the more awake and alert I feel - even when I don't get much sleep.

I've been looking forward to turning 30 (I'm 27 now). Why? Because I can only imagine how much my life will change and improve because of the compound effect of the good habits I'm practicing in my businesses and in my life. I took this snapshot on Instagram of a pic in Tuscany because I am planning on celebrating my 30th birthday by spending a month in some place like this. You gotta keep the vision for your future BIG. :)

This Asian Salad that I tried from a recipe I got from Pinterest is AMAZING. Now that I've moved to a nicer apartment with a better kitchen, I've been cooking alot more. I like this salad because I can make a big batch and keep it cold - which makes lunch/dinner time super easy and tasty. It's a hit with my roommates too.

Ingredients:

Whole Wheat Pasta - cook it separately and let it cool down before adding to the rest of the ingredients.

Slice up some:

- red bell pepper
- red cabbage
- chives
- cilantro
- cashew nuts

Make the sauce with:

- sesame seed oil
- olive oil
- minced garlic
- grated ginger
- juice from lemon
- brown sugar
- salt and pepper

I never measure anything - I just go by taste and kitchen experience. :)
If you do a search for "Asian Pasta Recipes" on Pinterest, you'll find something alot more detailed if you like.

Hey check out the view from my balcony! :) Before moving here I had written down that I wanted to live someplace where I could see the ocean through big glass doors and where the breeze could blow through the house. It happened. That's why you always, always keep writing down your dreams and goals.

Last month was an amazing month for my Life Binder kit. My Etsy sales totalled over $4000 for January! This month, I created an online course for the Female Entrepreneur Association called The Power of Printables and just did a live Google Hangout with Carrie Green showing the behind the scenes of how I've been able to have so much success with printables.

I really don't do anything fancy. I just do a couple things right and consistently put in the effort and energy so that I can't help but get results.

One sneak peek tip: Identify your goal and every day do ONE thing that has to do with getting you closer to achieving it. That's basically my whole strategy for success right there.

I'm in the process of writing a blog post/making a video of how I made $4000 last month on Etsy just with printables, so if you are on my email list, you'll know when that comes out! :)

Here's my little morning ritual nook where I sit and do my personal development and planning. I keep my Daily Planner and my Life Binder here too. You can't see it in the picture because I was using them at that moment. I've learned that when you take the time to "set yourself up for success" in this way, you make it easier to stick to new habits + rituals.

And that's all for this month! Enjoy the printable. I'm super excited to fill it out myself. And leave me a comment if you're liking these posts. Your comments give me energy to keep up the good work. :D

FREE February Desktop Wallpaper + Challenge

Ever since I decided to switch the Hello Month printables from the beginning of the month to the middle of the month (to help give people a mid-month boost), I've been wondering what I could offer instead each time a brand new month rolls around.

So I came up with the idea to release a pretty + useful wallpaper that you can use to organize your desktop computer AND to share a challenge related to taking 100% responsibility for your life. As you can see on the top of the wallpaper above, I've typed out a wardrobe challenge for this month.

Every month, there will be a new wallpaper and a new challenge.

I hope you like it. :)

HI! So I'm back with another review of what's working for me so far this month. These are so much fun to put together and share. Enjoy!

1

PLANNING AND LEARNING EVERY MORNING

I used to take time to sit down with my Life Binder and review my vision and set my plans a couple times a week. Now I do it every morning.

When I do this, it feels like I'm picking up a bow and arrow, pulling that arrow back, seeing my target and then releasing the arrow to shoot forward swiftly and accurately.

I also (some of the time) use the mornings to work through online courses. That way I can go through my day with new ideas on how I can do what I do even better. (This is a success principle recommended in the book Think and Grow Rich. Every day spend time learning how you can get better at your chosen skill set).

2

BEING PRESENTABLE ALWAYS
Reading this book by Jennifer L. Scott has helped me undergo not only a wardrobe transformation, but also a mindset transformation.

I used to only "dress up" if I was going somewhere nice. Now I dress in my best clothes even if I'm staying home all day.

Over the past 3 months, I've crafted together a quality wardrobe of 10 core items (mostly dresses from Boden) and now I dress up all the time for my own sake. Try it - your self-image will improve and the effects of that will have a positive impact on every area of your life.

3

HAVING ONLY ONE GOAL FOR THE SECRET OWL SOCIETY
I set tons of goals without hesitancy or fear of disappointment. Why? Because...
Whatever your mind can conceive and believe, the mind can achieve, regardless of how many times you may have failed in the past.” - Napoleon Hill
So whatever pops into my mind as something that I want to achieve, I 100% believe that I can achieve it. BUT I also believe that "where focus goes, energy flows," SO as far as which goals I am actively focusing and working on for the Secret OWL Society, I have only ONE.

And oh-my-goodness, what a difference it makes. I feel like I turned up the power in my brain 50% higher. I've sharpened my focus and am able to make connections and come up with ideas with so much speed and clarity - it feels like a super power.

What's my ONE goal for the Secret OWL Society? I want to help 5000 people transform their lives through using the Life Binder system. This plays out in so many ways, including starting to do YouTube videos and Google Hangouts centered on serving the community of people who have embraced the "Life-Binder Way." :)

4

GETTING HELP FROM MY SISTER ANGELICA
Woohoo, I've hired my first not-so-virtual assistant! Angelica is now helping me create graphics, manage social media, and take awesome photos of my printables so I can show people real-life peeks inside of the Life Binder and the S.O.S. Club.

I can now check my goal to delegate off the list! Woohoo!

The photo below is of 90 Day Goal printable inside of this month's S.O.S. Kit.

5

Get Rich Lucky B*** App
Denise Duffield-Thomas' teachings on moving past money blocks have helped me and my sisters ALOT. I've been practicing this tip from her for a while:

1. Set your money goal for the month.
2. Track your income daily.
3. Every time money comes into your life, subtract the amount from your money goal that month.
4. Focus on the new leftover amount as your goal moving forward.

So if your goal for January is to make $5000 and you've made $1700 so far, then the number you should be focusing on now is $3300 (not $5000).

To me, what this does is it helps my brain focus strategically on what I need to do to reach my goal every step of the way.

AND NOW DENISE HAS AN APP TO HELP YOU DO JUST THAT.
It's free and is currently available only for iPhones.

How to Get the Most from Your Day + Free AMAZING Printable

The process of achieving our goals is made up of hundreds of incremental steps. How can you make sure you stay on track with all those steps? Jim says that the best way to stay on track is to literally write down your activities on a day-to-day basis. He calls this getting the most FROM the day.
By keeping a written record of your life, YOU STAY ACCOUNTABLE. You're able to REVIEW and REFLECT. You can see what worked and what didn't work. You can squeeze more value and lessons from the day that you can use to be better and do better in the future.
If you haven't listened to the video above, please do. It's amazing. Below, you can see how I've illustrated the fantastic points that Jim Rohn shares:

CHOOSE THE ALL

Earn all you can
Make all the friends you can
Read as many books as you can
Develop as many skills as you can
See as much as possible
Do as much as possible
Make as much of a fortune as possible
Give away as much as possible

How do we "Choose the All"? By doing the best we can. How do we do the best we can? By reflecting on our activity so that we can always be improving it. How do we reflect on our activity? By keeping a written record of it.
And now for the golden question: How do we keep a written record of our activity in the most effective and efficient way possible?
Well, for me, I have been putting all this into practice by using my Life Binder on a near-daily basis. It's been by my side for the past 5 years and has helped me develop an awareness around my goals and my progress that I never had before.

To help you experience what I mean, I've taken some of the best bits of my Life Binder and put it into a single-page FREE printable that you can download HERE (no subscription required). Use it to PLAN, DO, and REVIEW your performance each week. You're going to feel amazing as you put it to work and revisit it every day. Hmm, I think my next post will be a video on how I use it myself! :)

If you like the printable, check out its family - the Ultimate Life Binder - a whole kit of printables designed to help you DO THE BEST YOU CAN and CHOOSE THE ALL. I know you'll LOVE it. :)

Here's what some people are saying about the Ultimate Life Binder:

I love the simplicity of the design and look forward to staying organized and on track in 2016 thanks to the Life Binder. Thank you! - Katie

EVERY Year I spend days/weeks/months searching for the right planner. Each year I'm disappointed because the one I found fails to meet my planning needs. Finally though, I found what suits me! - Lameisha

The printables were exactly as I wanted, simple, elegant and will hopefully prove to be an effective tool in helping to organise my life in 2016 and work out what my priorities are. I feel that the item is competitively priced and my correspondence with the seller was very efficient and courteous. - Karen

Free 2016 Goal-Setting Joybook

As a way of ushering in the new year and thanking you for being a fan of the Secret OWL Society, I created this workbook joybook. ;) I designed this with the intention of helping people feel alot of joy as they set their intentions for the year ahead.

Personally, I always get alot of joy out of writing out my goals. I literally do it every single day. And it's funny because every time I think I'm getting the hand of goal-setting, I realise more and more that goal setting and knowing how to dream in general is a skill and that I'm still learning. It takes practice to dream big. Every time I think that I've set a really big goal, I realise later that it only seemed big to the mindset I had at the time.

Now I really give myself permission to dream. Crazy, wild dreams that don't make any sense - it's just stuff I'd like to experience. One of my dreams is to "walk the red carpet." I have no desire to be an actress or anything. I just thought, "Huh, I'd like to do that one day." So I wrote it down. I 100% believe it's going to happen one way or another.

So I hope you truly HAVE FUN with this 2016 Goal-Setting Joybook. Just let yourself imagine, dream, and believe. And let me know how you like it! :) I might set a tradition to make a new one every year!
